devtools

a little guidance

let’s clear
that up.

the practical answers, from your first invitation to your next release.

is devtools a drag-and-drop website builder?+

your designer builds the layout and connects supported editable content. you manage that content, pages, collections, and images in devtools. new design structures or capabilities are separate development work.

how do i get access to my website?+

create an account and confirm your email. open the project linking page, sign in, and enter the project key your designer shared. keys expire after seven days and link one account. you can also accept a private invitation link using the email your website owner invited. registration alone does not grant website access.

do saved changes appear publicly?+

saving updates your private draft. the public website changes only when a saved snapshot is published, or when a due scheduled snapshot activates on a qualifying read.

what can each person do?+

owners manage the website, business records, and team access. editors change content. publishers can also publish. business staff manage customer records and payments. assigned designers do not automatically receive customer financial access.

how do reviews and approvals work?+

a review request captures a page location and draft version. unresolved requests block review approval. the approval records the exact saved draft; it does not publish the website or accept an estimate.

are payments live?+

no. the current integration uses stripe sandbox. devtools does not collect live payments. a client’s customer checkout requires that client’s own configured merchant; website-service invoices belong to the agency separately.

how does scheduled publishing work?+

a scheduled release captures the saved snapshot and a future time. later editing does not change that snapshot. the due release activates on the next qualifying website or workspace read.

can i connect an external website?+

yes. a developer can read the published content contract on the server through /api/cms/public/<slug>. drafts, conversations, contacts, and financial records stay outside that response. browser cross-origin requests need additional configuration.

what if i cannot sign in?+

use “forgot password” on the sign-in page. use “resend confirmation” if your email has not been verified. if no websites appear after sign-in, open “link project” and enter your designer’s project key or ask for a private invitation to the same email. production email setup is still pending.

is there a recurring plan or automatic tax calculation?+

no recurring plan or automatic tax setup is being offered here. scope, pricing, and delivery are discussed for each project. financial exports are bookkeeping aids, not a full accounting or tax system.

still need a hand?

if you already have a website, use designer chat in your workspace. for a new project, start a conversation here.
